The problem
Lion was rolling out a new Financial Controls Governance Framework as part of a company-wide transformation aimed at strengthening governance, improving accountability, and eliminating financial “surprises” in the business.

The challenge? Controls were often seen as a Finance issue. But in reality, ownership was dispersed across all functions; Sales, IT, Supply Chain, Marketing, People & Culture as well as Finance.

With the launch of The Lion Way for Guardianship, the business needed a learning solution that would shift mindsets, upskill control owners, and support a culture of accountability
Our solution
We partnered with Lion to create a 20-minute, scenario-based eLearning module that brought the new framework to life in a practical, accessible way.

Built in Articulate Storyline 360, the module featured:

Two learner pathways: one for Control Owners, and one for Leaders/Directors, ensuring learners only saw content relevant to their responsibilities.

A pre-test option allowing confident learners to demonstrate their knowledge upfront (and complete the module instantly if they passed).

A 100% pass rate requirement to reflect the importance of compliance.

Tailored, contextualised scenarios based on Lion’s real control processes, showing learners what good looks like in their role.

Clear learning actions and expectations, aligned to job accountability.

The module was SCORM-compliant, WCAG AA rated, and designed to feel slick, modern and distinctly “Lion”, hosted on their internal LMS.
The outcome
With just one month to complete the training, the module achieved a 95% completion rate across a diverse learner group.

Feedback was positive, with learners appreciating the practical focus, and stakeholders praising the clean design and engaging experience.
Most importantly, the training helped clarify accountabilities and embed the message that risk is everyone’s business — a key step in building stronger financial governance across Lion.
