Who are Learnopolis?
Our story

Learnopolis is a Sydney-based, boutique custom eLearning agency. It was founded in 2023 by Jen and Nicola - two Chartered Accountants turned award-winning learning designers who spent six years building high-impact learning solutions together at Lion before going out on their own.

​

That combination of deep L&D expertise and real business experience is what makes Learnopolis different. We don't just understand how adults learn: we understand how organisations work, what compliance actually means in practice, and what it takes to get people to change how they do their jobs.

​

Since founding Learnopolis, we've grown year on year, delivering custom eLearning solutions in Articulate Rise and Storyline for organisations across government, financial services, renewable energy, emergency services, infrastructure, healthcare, superannuation and technology. Every project is led and delivered by us - the people you speak to are the people who do the work.

Meet the team

Jennifer Kozanic

Hi, I'm Jen. Most business problems don't start out looking like learning problems, but so many of them are. When teams aren't performing or people aren't growing, the answer usually isn't another email or restructure. It's well-designed learning.

​

Before founding Learnopolis, I spent 20 years in finance, including large leadership roles at NAB, where I discovered that what I loved most wasn't the finance itself, it was developing the people around me. That pulled me toward learning design.

I genuinely enjoy the client side of this work. I go deep on every project - researching the sector, following what's happening in the industry, getting to know the people we're designing for. By the time we start building, I want to understand the organisation as well as they do. That's what lets me build real relationships with subject matter experts and senior stakeholders, have honest conversations, and get access to the information that actually makes a difference to the design.

I want every client to feel like we're genuinely in it together - someone who understands their world, asks the right questions, and won't stop until the solution is right. Because we are. You'll always know where things stand, and my door is always open.

​

Alongside the client work, I'm deep in the learning design - writing the first draft of every storyboard, shaping the structure and the scenarios before Nicola brings it all to life. Getting that foundation right is what everything else is built on.

Nicola Anderson

Hey, I'm Nicola. I came to learning and development after 13 years in finance, and I haven't looked back. Understanding the business side of things means I know what's actually at stake when people aren't applying what they've learned, and that means I design with outcomes in mind, not just learning objectives.

​

At Learnopolis, I get to do exactly that - every single day.

I care about the detail. Not in a perfectionist way, but in a "this scenario needs to feel like something that could actually happen" way. I love the moment when a complex topic - a piece of legislation, a cultural heritage obligation, a compliance framework - becomes something a learner can actually navigate with confidence. That's what good instructional design does.

​

Taking the foundation Jen has shaped and bringing it to life is where I'm at my best - figuring out the right interaction, the right visual, the right question to ask at the right moment. I believe learning should look as good as it works - good design draws learners in, reduces cognitive load and makes it easier for the content to land.

 

But looking good is only half of it. The real measure is whether someone does something differently on the job because of what they learned. That's what I'm designing toward, every time. Articulate Rise and Storyline are my tools of choice, and I genuinely enjoy the puzzle of making complex content accessible, visually compelling and (most importantly) capable of driving real change.

Jen and I have won five LearnX Awards together - one Platinum and four Diamond - which is lovely, but what I'm proudest of is the feedback we get from learners and clients who tell us the training actually made a difference.
