We’ve been reflecting on how quickly the skill requirements in workplaces are shifting, and what that means for learning strategies in the second half of the year.

Insight from the field:

The Core Skills of 2030 are already knocking at the door. According to the World Economic Forum, skills like analytical thinking, resilience, curiosity and empathy will be essential by 2030, but we’re seeing that many organisations are already feeling the pressure to embed these now.

The catch? These aren’t just skills you teach. They’re behaviours you build, and that takes intentional design. Read more in my LinkedIn article: The Core Skills of 2030.

What it means for you:

Now’s the time to stress-test your current learning programs. Are they truly future-fit? Are they building capability in ways that transfer into everyday behaviour?

Our advice: start small. Choose one or two core skills and embed them into a relevant, real-world challenge your teams are already facing.

Quick win to try:

Run a “skills snapshot” at your next team day. Ask: What skill is helping you succeed right now? What’s holding you back? The answers may surprise you - and they’ll give you a fast read on capability gaps.

Let us know what’s on your radar. We’re always happy to chat learning challenges, skill priorities, or just brainstorm over a cup of tea.
